From 6–10 July, The Inspirational Learning Group (TILG), in partnership with NatWest, will deliver NatWest Thrive Work Experience Week – an ambitious programme of modern work experience designed to give thousands of young people meaningful employer encounters, workplace insight and the opportunity to develop the skills they need for the future.
As schools continue to look for flexible, high-quality work experience that is accessible to all students, NatWest Thrive Work Experience Week brings together face-to-face experiences, employer volunteering and virtual careers content to create a blended approach to modern work experience.
Throughout the week, students from schools across the UK will attend one of five NatWest Accelerator Hubs in Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds, London and Manchester, where they will work alongside NatWest employees and volunteers to complete a live business challenge. These hands-on experiences give students the opportunity to develop key employability skills, solve real-world problems and hear directly from colleagues working across a wide range of roles within NatWest, helping them gain a broader understanding of the many career opportunities available.
Alongside the Accelerator Hubs, NatWest colleagues will also be volunteering their time in schools across the country, delivering employer encounters that allow students to hear about different career journeys, ask questions, explore workplace skills and gain valuable insight into the world of work through real interactions with employees.
To ensure every school can benefit, TILG and NatWest Thrive are also providing free access to a comprehensive programme of careers and employability content through Lightbulb Online.

The programme has been designed to give more schools access to high-quality careers education that is flexible, engaging and relevant. By combining face-to-face experiences with virtual learning, schools can provide students with a varied programme of employer encounters and workplace experiences that develop confidence, build employability skills and help young people make informed decisions about their futures.
NatWest Thrive Work Experience Week also supports schools in delivering modern work experience in line with the equalex framework, developed by The Careers & Enterprise Company. Through meaningful employer encounters, workplace experiences and careers learning, the programme helps schools provide opportunities that reflect the future direction of careers education while ensuring every young person has access to inspiring experiences, regardless of their location or circumstances.

While NatWest Thrive Work Experience Week takes place from 6–10 July, all of the resources will remain available on Lightbulb Online for the rest of the academic year, giving schools the flexibility to deliver the content whenever it best fits their careers curriculum.
